Bishop, Confessor and Doctor of the Church.
The Seraphic Doctor, glory of the Franciscan family, was a Master of Theology at the University of Paris, a most prolific writer, General of his Order and Cardinal of the Holy Church.
God gathered in him relevant talents, which are rarely found in one person: great flight of intelligence for scientific speculation, with admirable skill in the treatment and government of men; wonderful subtlety of wit, with an irresistible streak of affection and feeling; all this at the service of sanctity, from which resulted a great sage, a great ruler and, above all, a great Saint (1221 – 1274).
