Catholic Feast
To immediately prepare the dogmatic definition of the Immaculate Conception, the heavenly Mother of God deigned to appear to Saint Catherine Labouré, Daughter of Charity, in 1830, and ordered her to mint a medal that represented Mary crushing the head of the infernal dragon with her plant, and pouring out the treasures of heaven on the world. Around it is read: “O Mary conceived without sin! Pray for us, who turn to thee.”
The stupendous miracles that accompanied the Medal in the healing of bodies and in the conversion of souls enlivened all over the world faith in the mystery of the Immaculate Conception.
V/. Blessed Mother.
R/. Pray for us.
