Catholic Feast
In the temporal order, Jesus Christ is King of the whole world. Whoever denies it would be seriously wrong, since He has received from the Father an absolute dominion over all creation. But being King by law, in fact he wanted to found only one spiritual kingdom: The Church, whose invisible head is He, and whose lieutenant is Saint Peter and his successors. Christ exercises his power over souls, which he governs by faith and charity; on the Church, which governs by the hierarchy, and on civil society, inasmuch as it must be governed by abiding by the principles of natural, evangelical and canonical law. Let us proclaim today the kingship of Christ, the only one who can save peoples, establishing in the world the rule of justice and charity.
