Catholic Feast

On Mount Celius, in Rome, stood the imperial palace, called Lateran (Lateran), which the pious Constantine gave to Saint Sylvester for the abode of the Popes. There he built the Cathedral of the Roman Pontiff, and, therefore, the mother church and teacher of all the churches of the world, whose solemn dedication was celebrated on this day. Its holder is our Lord Jesus Christ, with the name of the Most Holy Savior. It is commonly called St. John Lateran, because it has attached the most famous baptistery, which bears the name of the Holy Precursor.

V/. Most Holy Savior.
R/. Pray for us.
