Confessor
He was the teacher of his century. The word of this apostle conquered two Saints for the altars: Saint Francis of Borgia and St. John of God. Other Saints consulted him, such as Saint Ignatius of Loyola and Saint Teresa of Jesus. A distinguished teacher in the spiritual life, very devoted to the Eucharist, an apostle of frequent Communion, he was the providential man who, anticipating the Council of Trent, promoted the reform of Christian customs among the clergy and the people.
