Confessor

He was born in Javier (Navarra). In Paris he met Saint Ignatius of Loyola, who conquered him for his Company and for the apostolate.

He toured eastern India and Japan, always on foot and often barefoot. In ten years he evangelized more than 50 kingdoms, baptized kings and princes and many hundreds of thousands of infidels. And at the age of forty-six he died on the island of Sanchón, near China, whose spiritual conquest he was going to undertake. He shone in stupendous miracles and raised many people from the dead. He is the heavenly Patron of the Propagation of the Faith and of all Missions.

V/. St. Francis Xavier.
R/. Pray for us.
