Confessor
Duke of Gandía, viceroy of Catalonia and great private of Carlos V, scared the world with contempt for his greatness, and embraced religious life in the newly founded Company of Jesus, whose main support was in Spain Most humble and devoted to the Eucharist, he united the interior life with an overflowing activity for the greater glory of God. He governed as General the Company of Jesus, the third after the Holy Founder. His sacred body, which was venerated in Madrid, was only partially destroyed by flames on May 11, 1931.
