Catholic Feast

Saint Peter was constituted by Christ supreme Shepherd of the whole Church. This prerogative, which he had to transmit to his successors, remained, by divine disposition, linked to the Church of Rome, where Peter definitively established his Chair; for which the Church of Rome is Head and Teacher of all the Churches of the world. Formerly the Chair of Saint Peter was celebrated on February 22; later that day was dedicated to the Roman Chair.

V/. Saint Peter.
R/. Pray for us.
