Martyr
He is one of the great apologists for the Christian religion in the second century. He sought the truth in the sects of the philosophers, but found it only in the Divine Scriptures. He wrote various apologies, which he addressed to the Roman emperors, and, in the end, sealed with his blood the faith that he had defended with the pen.
