Bishop, Confessor and Doctor

He was Italian, from Aosta, of noble and Christian family. At twenty-one he became a Benedictine. Appointed Archbishop of Canterbury, he fought with two English monarchs who seized the property of the Church. Profound theologian, he wrote about God and his attributes; His books not only illuminate the intelligence, but inflame the heart.

V/. Saint Anselm of Canterbury
R/. Pray for us.
