Catholic Feast

The Emperor Domitian condemned Saint John the Evangelist to be burned in a cauldron of boiling oil, from which he miraculously emerged unharmed. In this way, the holy brother of St. James, although he did not die a martyr, also drank the chalice of passion. Its main festival is celebrated on December 27.

V/. St. John the Evangelist
R/. Pray for us.
