Catholic Feast

In the Gothic Missal, the Cross was celebrated today, without alluding to its discovery. Rome accepted this feast, dedicating it to the discovery of the Cross by Saint Helena, Constantine’s mother, who made excavations at Calvary and found the three crosses: she recognized Christ’s because, applied to a deceased, it brought her back to life. To this true cross, as it was called in Spain, belong all the legitimate lignum crucis that are venerated in the Church. The largest piece is preserved in Rome, in the church called -Holy Cross of Jerusalem-

V/. St. Helena
R/. Pray for us.
